Sometimes the unexpected happens and people find themselves admitted to hospital when they may not have been anticipating it. As a result they may not have some of the essentials that could help make their stay more comfortable.
We all know that sometimes all it takes to help us feel a little more like ourselves is to freshen up; to brush our teeth or wash our face. We also know that not all patients have friends or family on hand to bring in these essentials. We want to ensure that patients who were not able to prepare in advance for their admission to hospital do not go without basic toiletries to allow them to do this.
We have prepared toiletry bags containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, razor, shaving gel, deodorant, shower gel and conditioning shampoo and made these available to admitting wards in Borders General Hospital.
The charity has also provided funding to ensure the hospital has a provision of basic clothing for patients who need it. This may be because of an unexpected admission but can also be to the nature of their stay in hospital where they have had to have clothing removed. We can only do this thanks to your donations.
